Your health and safety are my highest priority. Because massage cannot be performed while maintaining six feet of distance, strict adherence to safety precautions is critical. In compliance with New York State Guidelines for Personal Care Services, I have created a safety plan that is available for review. This page summarizes the COVID-19 precautions that I take to keep you (and me) safe.

Health Screening

All clients will be screened before prior to their session. There are two parts to the health screening:

Temperature check

I will take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. If your temperature exceeds 100.4 degrees, you will need to reschedule your appointment.

COVID-19 Health Information and Consent Form

This form contains questions about your health, recent travel, and exposure to those with COVID-19 symptoms. For faster intake, please download this form and complete it on the day of your appointment.

Hand Washing

I wash my hands before and after each massage. Before your massage session, I will ask you to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer which is provided.

Mask/Face Covering

New York State guidelines require both therapist and client to wear a mask at all times during a massage session. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided. Masks must be worn over the nose and mouth. If you are not able to wear a mask for health reasons, the massage cannot be provided. Masks with an exhalation valve are not allowed because the one-way valve only protects the person wearing it.

Social Distancing

Massage cannot be performed while maintaining six feet of distance. However, I ask that you help me maintain social distancing before and after your massage session (intake, payments, scheduling, home care, questions, etc.).

Cleaning and Sanitation

I take extra time between sessions to completely disinfect the treatment room. Here are the steps I take:

  • The massage table, sealed in a plastic cover, is disinfected before clean sheets are put on it

  • Pillows, sealed in vinyl covers, are disinfected before clean pillow cases are put on them

  • All surfaces and equipment in the treatment room are disinfected

  • Used sheets and pillow cases are placed in a sealed container

  • A cleaning log is maintained
